7. Sorry I Haven't Been Around Much Lately
Hi all! It has been a wild and weary couple of weeks and just when I thought things were getting back to normal, my laptop wouldn't connect to the internet. Yep, that was exciting! Now, it has blown its wireless card which is attached to the motherboard. We found this out after we took it to Circuit City where I bought my Compaq. Now, that isn't so bad, right? Wrong! They say it will take 3 to 6 weeks to send it out and get it back so what is a person to do? Fortunately, my son and daughter have laptops so they will let me use theirs when they aren't. 8. Oh The Weather...
Hi! The weather this week is very interesting. I am in Upstate New York visiting family and friends and having a good time. Yesterday, it was sunny and in the fifties. What a beautiful winter day! We took advantage of it and drove to Ithaca to meet friends for lunch. Ithaca is about an hour's drive through some of the most beautiful pastoral scenery that New York state has to offer. We met for lunch at a place called Mano's. It is a diner/ restaurant with great food at very reasonable prices. The menu ranges from chicken and biscuits to reubens and barbecue beef sandwiches which are excellent, home made soups and lots of different entrees if you want something more substantial. After a beautiful drive and stop for cappucino in Owego on the way home, we came back and I got to work on the computer again. Now, it is Tuesday! It is about 20 degrees, windy and snowy. The change from yesterday is incredible. The good news is I don't have to go out today unless I want to. That is the beauty of working from home, you can go out when you want to and stay home when you want to. We are having fun staying in today and working to build our business bigger and better. Safelists are a good way to advertise at no cost or for very little money, but you have to be careful because not all of them work well and can be a waste of time, effort and money. Don't let this happen to you! It has been nearly a week and I am finally back online. What happened? I put my laptop down on a table that had moisture on it that I didn't know about. 32. We went to see the animals
Hi all! We have been traveling to Florida for the last few days, that is why I have been out of touch. We went to the Animal Kingdom yesterday and went on Safari in Africa land. 36. Did you know dogs can shiver?
Yeah they can, just like humans. I never had experienced that before. We had no heat in the house last night so when I went to bed, our dog, Cocoa, went into her place as usual to go to sleep. I got up this morning and it was cold. It hadn't been cold last night. I got up and looked for something warm, like a bathrobe, to put on. Meanwhile, Cocoa woke up and it was time to let her out. When she came back in, she jumped up on her chair next to where I work on my laptop, and she snuggled right up to me and started to shiver uncontrollably. I put my laptop down and started to check her to see what was wrong. She was cold. You could feel it right through her fur. I began by placing a towel over her and petting her. After a few minutes, she stopped shivering and got back to normal. Now I know dogs can get cold. She wasn't hypothermic or anything, just cold. Someone once asked me that. For an RSS Feed or a blog, how do you come up with topics to write about? My answer was, what interests you. Why, you might ask? The reason is that there are other people out there who might have the same interests you do and read what you have to write. They may also click on any links you put in your blog to see what someone with similar interests to theirs is doing. These blogs are also searched by search engine spiders to index and place on their search engines. So, write. Write about your interests, your business, you hobbies, a book you have recently read, even your favorite movie or even a recent news event that has touched you in some way. For example, I am a weather nut and am tracking a front that is working its way across the country. The day before yesterday, it spawned a deadly tornado in Eagle Pass, Texas and now the Texas Red Cross is asking for donations. Meanwhile, this same storm dropped more than a foot of snow in the Rockies. It is making its way across the country now and is dumping lots of rain in both Chicago and Atlanta. 44. An Interesting Thing Happened Over the Weekend
It was a beautiful Saturday and we went to Gettysburg to shop and visit a friend who owns a sutlery (Civil War Shop) in Olde Gettysburg Vikkage. Liz, who makes some of the most authentic, beautiful Civil War era cloting and other period clothing I have ever seen in her shoppe, The Highland Rose, was happy to see us after a six month stint she had in Texas with her family. It was a beautiful warm spring day and we chatted about family and friends and about a great coat she is making for a mutual friend who portrays a Union Colonel in Gettysburg each summer. Then we came home to Frederick, and on the way, the wind and the rain began which are still with us today. Meanwhile, another friend introduced me, upon my arrival home, to a pay it forward business he had gotten in called 6k4u. 56. why Do I Work Online?
This morning, I asked myself that question, why do I do this? 82. Last Night I had one of those wonderful moments
Hello my friends! Last night was one of those that every parent lives for. My son is a junior in college, on the Dean's list and last night they received their class rings at a ceremony that included dinner and a reception.
